Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain while taking stock of steps taken for protection of residents from waterborne diseases, said that Water Supply and Health Teams had Collected water samples from Seven Villages on Sunday. She said the number of patients affected with Diarrhoea under treatment is 65 in the district.

She said that today patients with mild symptoms of Diarrhoea had been registered at Jujhar Nagar but there was no case of hospitalisation.Giving details of the patients undergoing indoor diarrhoea treatment, she said that 15 patients had been undergoing treatment at Derabassi Sub Division Hospital, 45 at District Hospital Mohali and 04 at CHC Kurali.

The deputy commissioner further said that to protect the residents from the Waterborne diseases, drinking water samples collected from Rurka, Bakarpur, Kurari, Kambala, Sohana, Balongi and budmajra, today by the team of Water Supply and Sanitation department with the help of Health Department. 

Besides, chlorination of all the water supplies being run by the water supply department is being done regularly. The water supply of Balongi has been temporarily discontinued in wake of the Diarrhoea problem, she further added.She appealed to the residents to take care of them by abiding by the health guidelines about the Waterborne diseases.
