World Hypertension Day 2023 was today observed across all health facilities of District Doda on the directions of Chief Medical Officer, Dr. A H Zargar.A series of activities including special NCD camps and awareness programmes were held in the District under this year theme, "Measure your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer"
Speaking about the importance of the day, the CMO stressed the need of prevention and early diagnosis of hypertension to prevent subsequent complications. He said adopting a healthy lifestyle is the key to prevent hypertension, heart diseases and stroke.
The CMO further informed that screening facilities and diagnostic tests are available at all Sub District Hospitals and NCD clinics in the districtHe said these facilities are also available at all PHCs and Sub Centres.
Health awareness and screening camps were organised in all health facilities in the District to educate the people about the silent killer hypertension. The people were also advised to adopt a balanced life style and proper intake of nutritious food to keep them healthy and aviod hypertension besides other lifestyle diseases.
