The District Legal Service Authority, in collaboration with the District Administration, organised a one-day Legal Awareness workshop aimed at improving the justice delivery system in the district and filling the gap in the judiciary and police/civil agencies for the speedy disposal of justice. 

The workshop aimed to make individuals aware of the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court regarding the detention of an individual, rights of detainees, procedure to be followed for remand and arrest. During the program, the Chief Guest Principal and District Session Judge Yashapal Kotwal, and Guest of Honour, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav, with special guests SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmed Poswal and Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar, Mahmud Anwar Alnasir discussed various issues pertaining to the Motor Accident Tribunal claims and the different sections of Criminal Procedure Code which police authorities and executive magistrates need to take care and apply their mind. 

The event was attended by a host of Judicial, Police & Civil officers, including Munsiff Kishtwar Kartar Singh, ASP Rajinder Singh, ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Paddar Rishi Sharma, SDM Marwah Mohsin Raza, Executive Magistrates, Police Officers, Legal Fraternity, Principal GDC, PRI representatives and other concerned officials from bank and insurance agencies besides district and sectoral officers.
