Police organises drug de-addiction meeting in Pulwama

In order to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Pulwama organised a meeting regarding drug de-addiction at District Police Office Pulwama.The meeting was chaired by SSP Pulwama Shri Mohd Yousif-JKPS and was attended by Nuberdars/Chowkidars of different villages of the District Pulwama.  

While speaking on the occasion, SSP Pulwama aware the participants about spreading of drug menace in the society and said that it is collective responsibility/duty of every citizen irrespective of whether they have been affected or not to play a positive role to eradicate such social evils from the society. 

He also high lightened the socio-economic factors contributed to drug addicting and preventive measures thereof and also explained the ways to know the warning signs and symptoms of the drug addict. 

He further said that public cooperation is necessary and police is always available for help those who became victims of this addiction and will make all possible efforts to help and rehabilitate the affected persons. 

SSP Pulwama stressed the need to impart various skill trainings to the younger generation to earn livelihood and will not indulge in this illicit trade. He stressed upon the participants to share information related illicit drug supply in the area so that in time action under law is taken against the culprits. 

The chair assured the participants that J&K Police is committed for the safety/security of left and property of the general public. The participants appreciated the role of police for conducting such interactive meetings which further boost community policing and public confidence.
