A Mega Job Fair and Employment Mela was organised by the district administration in collaboration with the Employment Department and Mission Youth at the Government ITI Kishtwar today. The event was attended by over 1200 job seekers and students. 

The event was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav. Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal appreciated the initiative and encouraged unemployed job seekers to take advantage of this opportunity. 

He also motivated participants to go for skill training, self-employment and into the private sector. Outstanding Youth Club from Panchayat Inderwal C (Block Inderwal) and success stories under various government schemes were presented with certificates and mementos. 

Trained Aapda Mitra Volunteers from across the district were inducted into Youth Clubs at the event by providing them with ID cards. A surprise quiz for students was also conducted and five winners were presented with gifts.

About 700 job seekers applied on spot for 245 vacancies from 14 employers at the event and over 300 applicants were shortlisted for these vacancies. In addition, on-spot awareness and registration regarding various government schemes were also conducted.

The event was also attended by Assistant Director Employment, Mohd Idrees; Lead District Manager, Pankaj Bhadani; Principal ITI Kishtwar, Mandeep Dogra; District Information Officer, Kuldeep Kumar; Block Development Officer Inderwal, Tasleem Wani; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Sanjay Sen; Director RSETI Kishtwar; Horticulture Development Officer; Employment Officer, Waseem Khan besides others.
