To ensure smooth conduct of  Lok Sabha Elections 2024, a series of training sessions were held for Micro Observers and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Kishtwar today. Organised by District Election Authority (DEA) under the close supervision of Deputy District Election Officer Kishtwar, Idrees Lone, the sessions aimed to equip Micro Observers and BLOs with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively monitor polling stations and maintain the integrity of  electoral process.

During the training session election officials, stakeholders, Micro Observers and BLOs discussed strategies and best practices for ensuring transparency and fairness during the upcoming elections. The Deputy DEO emphasised the pivotal role of Micro Observers in safeguarding the democratic process and stressed their contribution to maintaining the credibility of elections.

National Level Master Trainer (NLMT) ICE, Riaz Ahmed Butt, focussed on enhancing coordination among different departments and agencies involved in election process to streamline operations and ensure the smooth conduct of elections in Kishtwar.

The training session aimed not only to enhance the capacity of Micro Observers but also to underscore the commitment of election authorities to conduct free and fair elections in Kishtwar. With strong emphasis on transparency and accountability, the session laid  groundwork for a well-prepared team of Micro Observers ready to fulfil their crucial role in the electoral process.

BLOs were directed to ensure  the issued form 12 D (Postal Ballots) be handed over to elderly voters above 85 years and PwD voters and collect the filled-up form by given timeline, enabling them to vote with strict adherence to guidelines and protocols.
