District Election Office Kishtwar, led by District Election Officer (DEO,  Dr. Devansh Yadav today collaborated with  Forest Department, GDC Kishtwar, and GDC Chatroo besides Kishtwar Development Authority to organise  a trek to Watsar, Singhpora as part of the SVEEP Campaign for the upcoming General Lok Sabha Election 2024.

Chief Electoral Officer J&K Panduranga K Pole, along with District Election Officer Dr. Devansh Yadav; SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom; ACR Kishtwar/District Nodal Officer SVEEP Idrees Lone;  DIO Kishtwar Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, RO Forest Division Shafer Iqbal flagged off the trek contingent comprising students from GDC Kishtwar and GDC Chatroo.

The trek aimed to raise awareness about democracy and ethical voting as the students embarked on their journey from Singhpora to Watsar, located in the sub-division Chatroo of District Kishtwar.The trekkers were guided throughout the expedition by officials from  Kishtwar Development Authority , District Information Centre , Forest Department,ICDS, among others who besides providing guidance also gave moral support to the trekkers. 

The students actively engaged in raising slogans advocating ethical voting and voting rights as they trekked through the hamlets. At the Watsar trek destination, a plantation drive was conducted, accompanied by activities such as creating a Snow Tricolour, India Map and spreading awareness about SVEEP. These activities empowered the Watsar residents with knowledge about ethical voting and their right to vote.
