Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming Navratras and Ramzan here today. The meeting began with a two-minute silence in memory of Satish Sasan, President of Sanatam Dharam Sabha Poonch.

Religious heads and prominent citizens raised issues related to arrangements for Navratras and Ramzan. They requested that the administration ensure drinking water, power supply, sanitation, security and medical facilities at religious places.

The Deputy Commissioner directed departments to work together to provide essential commodities such as fruits and milk during Navratri and mutton, chicken, vegetables and milk at prescribed rates during Ramzan. He also instructed the PDD and PHE departments to provide adequate power and potable water supply.

The CA&FCS department was asked to keep essential commodities available as needed and monitor public distribution. The Municipal Committee was directed to maintain sanitation around places of worship. The police were asked to provide security during festivals.Directions were also issued to install hoardings greeting people and establish a dedicated cell with a phone number.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Rohit Baskotra; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Chairman Muncipal Council Poonch, Sunil Sharma;  Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; Tehsildar (Hqr), Jahangir Hussain; Xen PHE, Riaz Ahmed; Xen PDD, Irshad Ahmed; CEO Municipality, Varinderpal Singh, ARTO Poonch, Basharat Mehmood; Chief Sheep Husbandry, Ashish Mahajan; Naib Tehsildar, Maroof Khan; DPM, Nikhat Khawaja besides president SDS, Khaterpal, Surjan Singh from DGPC Poonch, Taj Mir, Advocate Mohd Zaman, Dr Sukhbir Singh, Vijay Puri from SDS and other concerned.
