Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today convened the monthly review meeting of the District Telecom Committee at the DC Office Complex, Poonch, to review progress of telecom infrastructure and connectivity projects.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the departments concerned to complete pending installation at 20 of the 40 identified mobile tower locations at the earliest, to speed up the survey process under the Amended BharatNet Project for improved rural connectivity, to conduct joint surveys of border villages and submit reports on areas still lacking mobile connectivity, and to ensure strict implementation of the Call Before You Dig (CBuD) initiative to prevent damage to underground utility infrastructure during excavation works.
Among those present were Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch Tahir Mustafa Malik, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Poonch Arvind Langeh, Chief Medical Officer Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, DySP DAR Poonch Shashi Kant, DGO (T) Mushtaq Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner (Panchayat) Poonch Rakesh Sharma, Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Poonch Khalil Ahmed Banday, District Informatics Officer Poonch Narinder Singh, Executive Engineer JPDCL Poonch Aftab Ahmed and SDO BSNL Poonch Parkash Talmale, besides other officers and officials concerned.
