ADC Kulgam Viqar Ahmed Giri reviews arrangements for Shab-e-Mehraj, Maha Shivratri festivals

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam Viqar Ahmed Giri today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for upcoming festivals of Shab-e-Merhraj and  Maha Shivratri  in the district.

Addressing the meeting, the ADC stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure fool proof arrangements in the shrines & mosques which expect huge congregations of devotees during the upcoming festivals.

The ADC directed the concerned officers for conduct of joint market checking to control profiteering & black marketing of essential commodities by traders.

The Executive Engineers of PDD & Jal Shakti were directed to ensure availability of uninterrupted power and water supply at all shrines and mosques where huge congregations shall be held.

Other arrangements including security arrangements, deployment of magistrates, cleanliness drive and availability of essential commodities, medi-care, fire tenders, besides, availability of transport were also discussed and directions were passed to the concerned officers for ensuring the required facilities.

During the meeting the ADC also directed PDD and PHE to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during the festival days at the places  where Pandit community live.

He also directed the Fisheries department to keep trout fish available in abundant quantity. The meeting was attended by SDM Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan, Executing Engineers of  PHE & PDD, Tehsildars, CMO, ARTO and other officers.
