District Administration Doda today organized a free medical/ consultation camp at OPD Block of Associated Hospital GMC Doda. Renowned Gastroenterologist of the UT Dr Vijant Singh Chandail, Associate Professor in GMC Jammu checked up the patients.

A huge footfall of patients were witnessed at the camp as the health department under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer,  Dr Yaqoob Mir Doda, had conducted wide publicity  to attract the people to avail free consultation.

The free consultation camp was held under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) and ADBHUT Doda Initiative of the District Administration to provide specialized service to the people within the district for which they are forced to visit Jammu.

The whole programme was conducted under the overall guidance and supervision of Deputy Commissioner,  Vishesh Paul Mahajan. The DC and SSP Abdul Qayoom inspected the arrangements at the camp and interacted with patients and staff at the venue.

DC, SSP and other officers also registered and generated ABHA health cards at a stall established by the health department at the campsite. ABHA or Health ID or ABHA Card is a unique identity or health locker to receive, store & share medical records from health service providers for reference with the user's consent.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Government of UT and District Administration were committed to provide best and quality healthcare services to the public in the district.

The manpower, infrastructure, and machinery were being augmented in the newly established GMC Doda to meet the health care demand of the area. He informed that administration was going to organise more such consultation camps at the district headquarter and in the rural areas to cater to the health care needs of the patients.

He further informed that the health department has started tele-consultation services under the e-Sanjeevani scheme, and the contact numbers are already in circulation. He advised the public to take maximum advantage of tele-consultation services, ABHA ID, and AB-PM JAY-SEHAT Scheme.
