To realize Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's dream of a drug-free Punjab, 800 students of Fazilka district, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal IAS, along with senior officials and their teachers formed a human chain to aware and unite the people against drugs. 

This human chain was formed from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium to Deputy Commissioner Office Fazilka (3 km). Apart from this, 97304 students in all government schools of the district (468 primary schools and 232 upper primary schools) took a pledge to stay away from drugs and to fight against drug addiction.

On this occasion, along with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal IAS, the students took an oath to stay away from drugs and create awareness against drugs. While speaking on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that there is no place for drugs in a healthy, educated and advanced society.

She said that Fazilka is a border district and the neighboring enemy country keeps trying to send drugs here. Therefore, it is important that every citizen should be aware of this evil and if there is any victim, he should get treatment. She said that the students will take this message to society.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal said that every effort is being taken by the Punjab government to eradicate drug addiction and in such a situation social awareness and social participation is required. The Deputy Commissioner said that if all the people of the society cooperate, we can defeat drugs. 

She said that the treatment of drug addicts is done by the Punjab government in government hospitals absolutely free of charge and identification of such persons will be protected.Meanwhile, students participated enthusiastically and raised slogans against drugs. 

The students took a vow that they will take this message against drug addiction to the society. On reaching the DC office, the students were given refreshment. Here Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)  Mandeep Kaur thanked all the officers, employees, teachers, students and media for making this event a success.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mr. Sandeep Kumar, SDM Mr. Nikas Khinchar, Deputy DEO Mr. Pankaj Angi and Mrs. Anju Sethi, Satinder Batra, etc. were also present on this occasion.
