As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration and under the ongoing Good Governance Week celebration themed around "Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur", Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav-IAS today conducted surprise inspection of Fair Price Shops in the Lachdayaram A & B Panchayats in the suburbs of Kishtwar Town.

During the visit, the DC Kishtwar checked the available and required infrastructure, Ration stock, quality control measures adopted by the FPS, type of services delivery and transparency as well as grievance redressal mechanism implemented on the ground level.

The Deputy Commissioner thoroughly checked the method of ration distribution to beneficiaries through Aadhar based Point of Sale (PoS) machines. Besides, the DC also interacted with beneficiaries and enquired from them about the facilities/services provided by the Department.

The PRIs and beneficiaries expressed satisfaction over the working of the department. Concerned TSO, Moti Lal informed the DC that people are getting their entitled ration as per rate and scale under various departmental schemes like NFSA, PMGKAY etc.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also conducted an interaction with PRIs and locals of the panchayat and listened to their grievances. After patient hearing, he assured them that their grievances will be taken up with the concerned authorities and resolved on priority.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Kishtwar called upon all the PRIs to strengthen the revenue generation in Panchayats besides appealing to locals to cooperate with PRIs and administration and maintain cleanliness in the Panchayats.

Responding to the issue raised by locals about the water Scarcity, the Deputy Commissioner said that the twin Panchayats have been covered under the Jal Jeevan Mission which envisages provision of tap water connection to all households by 2024.
