District Administration Kathua today organized multifarious activities under ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’ programme in different parts of the district to mark ongoing Good Governance Week. A Public Grievances Redressal cum Service delivery camp (Block Diwas) was held at Block Nagri.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atul Gupta presided over the proceedings. The camp witnessed overwhelming participation of locals who turned up at the venue where stalls of different departments were also installed.
BDC Chairman Nagri, Khazan Chand; DDC Member, Sandeep Majotra; Tehsildar, Sudesh Kumar; BDO, Sachin and other district and sectoral officers were also present.
Deputations and individuals put forth their grievances which were mainly related to provision of road connectivity, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water supply, rejuvenation of irrigation facility, shortage of Panchayat staff, pendency of pension cases etc
Addressing the gathering, the ADC said the Block Diwas was one stop platform for the people to interact with district administration and highlight their grievances for assured redressal.
“The Block Diwas program is in line with the government’s resolve to bring governance to the doorsteps of the people (Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur). He appealed to people to avail maximum benefits of government schemes.
He further asked them to enquire about different departmental schemes and services from the stalls specially installed during Block Diwas for providing all the services at single point. Responding to the demands, the ADC directed the concerned officers to take cognizance and redress the grievances on priority basis.
Later, the ADC also gave away Land Passbooks to the landholders. ADC Basohli Ajeet Singh presided over the Block Diwas proceedings at Panchayat Dhar Jankhar and listened to the grievances of the people of adjoining Panchayats of block Dhar Mahanpur today.
Similarly, ADC Billawar Vinay Khosla alongwith team of officers visited Bhatodi Panchayat in remote block Duggain where a grievance redressal cum service delivery camp was held. People in large numbers of peripheral areas participated and apprised the ADC about grievances and difficulties faced by the inhabitants.
Meanwhile, anti encroachment drives, verification of PM-Kissan, PMAY, PM-Kisan nidhi, land passbook distribution, grievance redressal camps were held during the second day of the Good Governance Week.
