Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey, who is also District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), on Friday chaired a meeting of EROs and AEROs to review the preparations for Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls.
The meeting discussed the modalities for revision of Electoral rolls. The DC informed attendees about the uses of forms, including Forms PER 2A, PER 2B, PER 2C, and PER 2D, during the revision process.
He also informed them that six special camps viz 31st December 2022, 1st January 2023, 7th-8th January 2023, 14-15th January 2023 would be organized during the revision period, and the Panchayat Elections Booth Level Officers would remain available at their respective booths with the requisite forms and draft electoral rolls for the guidance of the electors.
The DPEO instructed the officials to work dedicatedly so that the final publication of the voters’ list was published on 21st January 2023 in a flawless manner for the upcoming elections. The DPEO further instructed the concerned to conduct revision strictly in accordance with the guidelines and complete the process within the given timeline.
The DPEO also emphasized upon the concerned officers to take utmost care while making the addition of new voters/left out voters. He stressed on timely addition of eligible voters and urged eligible voters to contact designated officials at village level to get registered in the electoral roll. The meeting was attended by ADC, SDM, ACR, Dy.DEO, BDOs and other concerned.
