The Social welfare Department Kulgam in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) organized a Mega distribution camp of Prosthetic Aids under Assistance to Disabled persons (ADIP) scheme in which more than 200 already assessed beneficiaries were provided "fit to size" prosthetic aids worth 24 lakh.

Wheel chairs, CP chairs, Hearing aids, Smart canes, Rollators, Tricycles, Braille kits, Callipers, Smart Tablets etc were handed over to the beneficiaries during this camp by the  Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr.Bilal Mohi Ud Din Bhat.

DSWO Sanobar Altaf and other concerned officers were present on the occasion. The Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of the Social welfare department in organising such events for especially abled persons of the district.

On the occasion DSWO Kulgam Sanobar Altaf said that the main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons by providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern standard aids and appliances to promote physical social, psychological rehabilitation of persons with disabilities by reducing the effects of disabilities and at the same time enhance their economic potential.
