With the aim of providing educational opportunities at all levels to the children of BPL's families in slum areas, district administration on Tuesday launched the "Vidya Prakash School Wapsi Da Aghaz" program in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit and the Red Cross Society.  

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav said that this program is like a boon for needy children. Keeping in mind that education is the right of every child, the district administration has started this program in the slum area of village Bari Haveli.

Deputy Commissioner said that 32 children have been registered to get education in these special classes which is a positive sign from the parents for their children. The parents of the children present on this occasion thanked the Deputy Commissioner, saying that this is the first time that a teacher will teach in a class near our homes.

Deputy Commissioner said that cultural activities will be conducted along with studies to continuously encourage the children to acquire education without any gap and the mothers of the children will also be encouraged to participate in these special classes.

Dr. Preeti Yadav said that the children will be provided food, books and stationery etc. by the District Child Welfare Unit.Deputy Commissioner further said that after completion of bridge course, children will be admitted to schools in the second phase. She said that under this program special attention will be given to the needy children who could never go to school due to family reasons.
