The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal for raising baseless questions on the functioning of the Mann government and accused Akali Dal of nurturing their own families while ignoring welfare of the Punjab.

Addressing a press conference here, party's chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is working dedicatedly to wipe out the political mess and mafia from the state which were patronised by Akali Dal during their 10-year long regime and that caused annihilation of the future generations of the Punjab.

Lashing out at SAD leader Prem Singh Chandumajra, Kang said that CM Mann is true custodian of the Punjab and unlike him and other Akali leaders, CM led AAP is working dedicatedly to bring back lost glory of the state.

He said that Akali Dal only have nurtured their own families and indulged in corruption. Badal family had amassed huge properties while playing a 'friendly match' with Congress for decades.

But now, AAP has exposed their nexus and cracking whip on corrupt leaders, this is why they are doing cheap politics and levelling scurrilous allegations against AAP government, Kang said.

Hitting out at SAD, Kang said it is amusing that Akali Dal which had been an alliance partner of BJP for years, is now accusing the staunch honest AAP of working with BJP. Actually, Akali Dal is unnerved now that their real face was already exposed before Punjabis and now they would also pay for their sins.

He said that the Badal family had contributed to enacting the farm laws, which led to killing of over 700 farmers during year-long protest against centre. He said that Akali Dal as an alliance partner of BJP had always worked against the interest of Punjab and weaken the state.

He said that drugs peddlers were patronised by Akali leaders and due to this, now youth are ensnared by drug menace. He asserted that Punjab is now in safe hands of CM Mann and people of Punjab are extremely happy with the seven months working of the AAP government.
