Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar today organised a Lecture on the topic, “Career Opportunities in Civil Services” under the supreme guidance  of the College Principal, Dr. Udhey Bhanu.

 The Resource Person on the occasion was Prof./Dr. Jigar Mohd., Department of History, University of Jammu. The programme began with the welcome address by Prof. Swarna Devi, Convenor of Career, Counselling and Placement Cell of the college, which was followed by the lecture of the Resource Person, Prof. Jigar Mohd.

He gave detailed information about the career opportunities in civil services. He exhorted upon the three important things that the students have to do to qualify the civil services examinations and these three things, he said by giving the reference of Geeta, were the quest for acquiring Knowledge, Karma or hard-work and Devotion i.e., sincerity. 

He encouraged the students by saying that it does not matter from where they belong. He said that there are several examples in our society that people from remote areas excel in the civil services examinations.

He inspired the students to choose civil services as their career after completing their Graduation Degree.While speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the College congratulated the Career, Counselling and Placement Cell for organizing such a thought-provoking lecture and hoped that in future also such lectures will be organized for guiding and directing the students to choose their career. 

He suggested to them different methods to succeed in such exams and how to excel in life by taking the right decisions at the right time.Students and all staff members were present on the occasion. Prof. Suresh Dogra, Prof. Brinder Kumar, Prof. Swarna Devi, Dr. Naveed Hassan Choudhary, Dr. Riaz Mohd., Dr. Monica, Prof. Aditya Sharma, Prof. Divya Puri, Prof. Shobha Rani, Prof. Anice, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, Dr. Satish Sharma etc. were amongst the members who attended this programme.

The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, HOD Physics.
