Rayat Bahra University (RBU) celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm by organizing a Tree Plantation Drive under the NSS Department on the university campus. The initiative was held under the inspiring theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, promoting environmental responsibility and sustainability.

The event witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, university officials, and invited guests. The programme was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, Director NSS Prof. (Major) A. S. Chahal, Meena Verma, Principal, RBU School, along with representatives from Malabar Gold & Diamonds and NSS volunteers.

Together, they planted saplings across the campus, contributing to a greener and cleaner environment. The drive aimed to spread awareness about the importance of trees in combating climate change, reducing pollution, and preserving ecological balance.

Participants highlighted the need for collective efforts to protect natural resources and promote sustainable development practices. NSS volunteers also displayed creative slogans emphasizing environmental protection, tree plantation, and pollution control, which added an awareness-driven dimension to the event.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Major) A. S. Chahal stressed the urgency of environmental conservation and encouraged students to become active contributors to a sustainable future. The programme concluded with a pledge by all participants to continue supporting eco-friendly initiatives and work towards building a healthier planet for future generations.
