Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa today felicitated the winners of painting, essay writing and logo design competitions organised under the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Udhampur.

The programme was attended by District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta, Chief Education Officer Subash Gupta and DIO NIC Anish Sharma, besides students and staff from various educational institutions.

As part of the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, painting, essay writing and logo design competitions were conducted across the district to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage student participation in the anti-drug campaign.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the winners and all participants for their involvement. He sensitised students about the objectives of the campaign launched by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor and highlighted the need for collective action to combat substance abuse.

He urged everyone to actively spread awareness about the consequences of drug addiction and emphasised the role of schools and educational institutions in fostering a drug-free environment. The Deputy Commissioner distributed certificates among the winners and participants in recognition of their contributions towards promoting a drug-free society.
