DC Poonch Inder Jeet e-inaugurates Online Classes through ICT Labs, CAL Centers

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today e-inaugurated Online Classes being run through Information Communication Technology (ICT) Labs and Computer Aided Learning (CAL) Centers to overcome the problem of dearth of Teaching faculty in 10+2 Schools in the district.

Students and Staff from all the Higher Secondary and High Schools participated in the e-inauguration ceremony.The motive behind the initiative was to integrate the Information and Communication Technology in Teaching, Learning and Evaluation on the one hand and to fill the dearth of Teaching faculty in the 10+2 Schools of the district.

 The initiative would connect 115 ICT Labs and 91 Computer Aided Learning Centers to provide quality education to over 24000 students studying in 121 Higher and Higher Secondary Schools in the district.

After the e-inauguration of ICT labs and CALs, the DC interacted with students of 121 ICT/CAL Centres located in for flung areas of Poonch district like Loran, Mankote and Hari Marhote through video conferencing.

He urged the students and teachers to make maximum use of ICT based technologies for improving the quality of education.The DC highlighted the importance of ICT in the present scenario. He said that with this the student studying in for-flung areas would be able to compete with the students studying in cities having all the facilities.

He emphasized on the need to strengthen e-education in this far-flung district to impart quality education through the ICTs and CSAL Centers.Students from HSS Loran, HSS Marhote, HSS Mankote and other far-flung areas interacted with the DC Poonch and highlighted how the Online classes through ICTs have helped them to complete their syllabus and connected them with the outside world.

Joint Director School Education Poonch-Rajouri, Mohd Ashraf in his address congratulated the Teaching faculty and asked them to equip themselves with the modern skills of using Digital Tools in their teaching learning process.

Chief Education Officer Poonch, Bishamber Dass,  briefed that the ICT Labs and CAL Centres would help the department to fill the dearth of teaching faculty in all the Higher and High Schools.DEPO Poonch, N M Suri  Darshan Kumar (DRG) and Harish Sharma (DRG) were present on the occasion.
