District Legal Services Authority Kathua, in collaboration with District Social Welfare Department, on Saturday organised an awareness programme at Day Care Centre to mark the “International Day of Elderly persons.”

The programme was organised under the supervision of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kathua Jaffer Hussain Beg.On the occasion, Panel Lawyer Adv. Mukesh Kumar Talotra, who was the Resource person for the program, imparted awareness on different provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens Act, 2007 among the inmates of Day Care Centre. 

He said the District Legal Services Authority was making all efforts to ensure that rights of senior citizens are duly enforced besides providing the benefits provisioned for the senior citizens under the act.The programme was attended by the President of Senior Citizens Association Kathua and its members, staff of District Legal Services Authority Kathua along with Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA.
