Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today reviewed the progress under different schemes of the Education sector here at a meeting held in the DC office complex.The meeting was attended by CPO, Uttam Singh; CEO, P.L Thapa; XEN REW, XEN PWD Kathua, XEN PWD Basohli, ZEOs and other concerned.

At the outset, the DC took appraisal of action taken with regard to issues discussed in earlier meetings such as physical verification of schools with regard to availability of Assured Minimum Facilities, schools without water connection, boundary wall, toilet facility etc.

The CEO apprised the DC about the reconciliation of food grains issued under PM-Poshan Scheme (erstwhile MDM) with the Food, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Department Kathua.

The DC called upon the CEO to submit a zone wise list of schools without External Electricity connection so as to ensure that such schools are provided with proper electricity supply.

The DC also laid thrust on coming up with innovative measures as an alternative way to ensure compound walls are erected in schools without boundary thereby providing security and safety to the school staff and students.

It was also given out in the meeting that 31 works have been dropped under SAMAGRA on grounds of non- feasibility.The DC directed CEO Kathua to adopt an intra-complex system to carry out rationalization of staff so as to cater the demand of staff shortage.

The DC called upon executive agencies to submit monthly progress reports and highlight any bottlenecks being faced in executing the work so as to achieve the progress within set timelines besides ensuring quality asset creation.
