The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (AACL) under the guidance of Bharat Singh, Secretary, AACL organized a Two-Day Punjabi Seminar at the meeting Hall of Tagore Hall in Srinagar.
Kanwal Kashmiri, a noted Punjabi writer presided over the inaugural session of seminar; whereas, Jagmohan Raina, APSCC, also a well acclaimed Punjabi speaker, was the Chief Guest on the occasion; and Mufti Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Incharge Translation Research Centre (TRC), AACL, Srinagar presented the welcome address on the occasion.
In the first session, three papers were presented by writers on different aspects related to Punjabi literature and language with special reference to UT of J&K. Paper readers in the first session included Ravinder Kour, Prof. Gurcharan Singh Raina, Harmohinder Singh Harji; and in the second session included Dr. Shan Kashmiri, R. S Rajan, and Gurnam Singh Arshi.
Bharat Singh, Secretary AACL appreciated the efforts of staff at AACL for the literary initiative. Jagmohan Singh Raina applauded efforts of AACL for organizing the literary programmes across J&K; he further added “Punjabi language is spoken in almost every corner of the country, our young scholars and learned personalities of J&K are also working for betterment of Punjabi language and literature.”
Kanwal Kashmiri also highlighted the efforts made by AACL for providing the platform to young scholars for presenting their literature. He elaborated that AACL provides subsidies to authors for publishing the valuable literature.
Ajeet Singh Mastana presented the Keynote address which remained impressive among the audience. AACL's Punjabi publication Sada Sahit 2021 Short Story Special number was also brought out by JKAACL and released in the inaugural session.
