As part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to mark 75 years of India’s Independence, the District Administration Bandipora in collaboration with NHPC and KPDCL today celebrated ‘Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya’, power@2047 at town Hall Hajin.
The programme was attended by Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Ab Gani Bhat; Joint Director Planning Bandipora, Imtiyaz Ahmad; Chairman MC Hajin, Irshad Ahmad; SDM Sumbal, Dr. Bashir Lone; HOP, Parag Saxena and other senior officers from District Administration, PDD and general public.
The DDC Chairperson while speaking on the occasion lauded the efforts made by the concerned agencies for electrifying all the areas including far-flung rural areas of the district.He stressed on judicious use of electricity and urged the public to understand the importance of electricity and its judicious use.
Speaking on the occasion Joint Director Planning appreciated the efforts of NHPC and PDD for their contribution in Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bahvishya.He threw light on key achievements of India under the power sector.He said that the aim of celebrating Bijli Mahotsav under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @2047 is to encourage public participation and aware the public regarding achievements in the power sector.
During the programme, documentaries regarding various electrification schemes and renewable energy were screened.Nukkad Natak and Cultural items spreading awareness on the theme of saving electricity and online bill payment were also presented during the function.
