DDC Chairperson listens issues of PRIs, locals in Block Diwas

With an aim to redress the grievances of people, the weekly block Diwas program was today held at Degree College, Kangan which was presided over by District Development Council Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq and Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Khurshid Ahmad Shah.

During the proceedings of block Diwas, PRIs and locals raised a number of grievances related to better water and power supply, upgradation of roads, play fields and other issues of public importance were highlighted.Nuzhat Ishfaq gave patient hearing to the issues raised on the occasion and several grievances were redressed on the spot and necessary directions were issued to concerned officers for the redress of the rest on immediate basis.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson said that the purpose of holding Block Diwas is to have firsthand appraisal about the issues and demands being faced by the people and to provide on spot redressal of possible grievances.

The ADDC while interacting with the PRIs assured them that the issues raised will be discussed with the concerned department for timely redressal. 

He also urged the officers to work with zeal and close coordination of PRIs to achieve targets on time.Among others, the program was attended by SDM Kangan, CPO, ACD besides other officers and official of line departments.Later, DDC Chairperson inaugurated macdamization on Bobsipora watalbagh road.
