In view of the current Omicron threat as well as to ward off any possibility of third wave of Covid-19, Civil Surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur flagged off an awareness van from Civil Surgeon’s officer here today. The awareness campaign assumes greater significance as the threat of an imminent third wave is looming large and vaccination is the only permanent way to save people from Covid-19. Dr Adarshpal Kaur said that to ensure hundred percent vaccinations and give a further boost to the campaign with the objective of reaching every household, "Har Ghar Dastak" campaign was recently launched. She further said that this IEC ( Information Education Communication) van which will visit various places in the district in the coming days, will be utilized to create awareness so that resistance to vaccination as well as vaccine hesitancy will be removed.

Emphasizing on complete anti-Covid vaccination, the civil surgeon said that vaccination for persons above 18 years of age is going on in full swing at government and private health institutions across the district. She further said that every beneficiary must be vaccinated without wasting time as the vaccine gives the body the strength to fight the pandemic. She added that the vaccine is completely safe and everyone should get it without any fear. People who have not yet been vaccinated against Covid or who have not had a second dose should get vaccinated immediately. Covid vaccination is being provided free of cost in various government health institutions across the district. People can go to the nearest health facility and get vaccinated without any hindrance.On this occasion, District Immunization Officer Dr. Girish Dogra, Food Safety Officer Anil Kumar, Lovepreet Singh, Vivek, Paramjit Singh, Parminder Singh, Bhinder Kaur, Beant Singh etc. were present.
