On 21st November 2021 at Road Victims Memorial, opp polo ground Patiala. Patiala Foundation commemorated the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims by paying homage to the lost lives and by doing volunteer service towards the maintenance of Road Victims Memorial. Also, a lecture on sensitisation of Community towards the need of Road safety was delivered by Chief Functionary, Sh. Ravee Singh Ahluwalia jiRavee Singh Ahluwalia , Chief Functionary of the Patiala Foundation Project “SADAK” said: “The World Day of Remembrance is an important occasion to stand together with the global community to commemorate road victims and call for an end to the mishappenings on our roads. No one should have to go through the uncalled for, preventable loss of a child, a brother, a mother, a friend, killed in a road traffic crash. 

He further added, "We should adhere to the global plan demanding 30kmph in all the livable streets of our country"The event was organized by Patiala Foundation under its road safety initiative “ SADAK “ and was attended by prominent citizens of Patiala .The Road Safety Team of SADAK which includes Mr.Harpreet Sandhu, Mr.S.P.Chand ,Mr Pawan Goyal, Mr.Rakesh Goyal ,S.Anmoljit Singh, Principal Manju, Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Eekisha, Aadishwar, Sajni Batish, Nilu Sharma, Rajeev Sharma, Kaka Ram Verma and all our dedicated volunteers Abhinandan Mittal, Bharpur Singh, Harmanjot Singh, Hardeep, Ravaldeep, Sanyam, Pratham, Ankit, Gaurav, Shubhangani participated in the event.

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year to remember the millions of people killed and injured on the world’s roads .It is also a day to thank the emergency services for their role in saving lives; to reflect on the impact of road deaths on families and communities; and to draw attention to the need for improved legislation, awareness, infrastructure, technology, and post-crash response to save more families from the tragedy of losing a loved one. The World Day of Remembrance was founded by the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR) and adopted by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in 2005.
