Felicitation of teachers and a string of other activities highlighting the role of the teacher in the society marked the Teachers’ Day in Jammu Division held every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.Scores of teachers and heads of institutions were honoured by the respective district administrations for their extraordinary contribution in enriching the field of education.At RAMBAN:  Teachers’ Day, 2021 was celebrated across the district Ramban with great enthusiasm amid strict Covid protocols to commemorate Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary.  Deputy Commissioner, Ramban,  Mussarat Islam was the chief guest at the main function which was attended by Chief Education Officer, Vinod Koul, Principals, Headmasters and awardee teachers besides students.On the occasion, the Education Department, Ramban   felicitated scores of teachers from different Educational Zones of the district for their extraordinary contribution especially in facilitating students to manage their studies properly through online classes, community classes besides by providing off-line study material during COVID-19 pandemic.Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that Teachers are the true nation builders and this day provides the society an opportunity to thank them and recognize their contribution.  The participating students also expressed their views about the role of teachers in their lives. Similar programmes were also held at zone and school level across the district.

At POONCH:  To honor their significant contribution in shaping the life of students especially during COVID-19 period, 36 Teachers, Principals and ZEOs were felicitated in a function organized to mark Teachers’ Day here at Girls HSS.Deputy Commissioner,  Inder Jeet was the chief guest on the occasion and Joint Director School Education, Zubair Shah, Rajouri was the guest of honor.Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over loss of students’ precious time due to COVID and asked the teachers to devise means to fill the learning gaps of the students. He suggested various means through which students can be contacted and taught online.He appreciated the teaching community for their multitasking skills as they have to work on various fronts in addition to their regular duties like COVID duty, BLOs, Awareness programs etc.

GDC Marh: Teachers Day was celebrated at Government Degree College, Marh with great fervor and enthusiasm, under the guidance and leadership of College Principal Prof. Aekta Gupta.A plethora of activities marked the celebration including plantation drive, speech by the Principal, symposium and presentation by the teachers. On this auspicious day, Newsletter of the college has been  released by the Principal and other staff members.Symposium on the topic ‘How my Teachers inspired me during online classes’ was organised and certificates were given to the participants. Virtual video presentation regarding the importance of online teaching was also screened by Prof. Ashu Jolly, Department of Education.

At Doda: To commemorate Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birth anniversary, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Doda celebrated Teachers Day with great pomp and show.District Planning Education Officer, Ayaz Mughal was the Chief guest, while Principal HSS Trown Tanveer Hussain Wani;  Principal of the host School, Kishwar Bano and Principal Girls Higher Secondary School Doda  Nazia Munshi were the special Guests  at the function attended by ZPEO Kishori Lal, Teachers, Staff members and Students. A cultural program and skit items were presented by school students, while a number of speakers highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping the personality of the students.Later a prize distribution function was held among teachers, staff members and students.

GDCW UDHAMPUR: To commemorate Teachers’ Day, the Department of Music, Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur organized a Poster Making cum Slogan Writing Competition held through virtual mode.The Principal of the host college Prof Minu Mahajan was the Chief Guest on the occasion.While speaking on the occasion, the Principal emphasised the important role of a teacher in a student's life, as the true Nation builders and a source of knowledge & wisdom.As many as 39 students of the host college participated in the competition and expressed their feelings towards the teachers through the colours.  In the competition, Khushi Sharma of Semester -2    clinched first position, Shaveta Thakur of Semester-2 bagged second position, while third position was shared by Jyoti Koushal of Semester-6 and Manisha Thakur of Semester -2  . Besides, Pinky Devi of Semester-4 and Shaya Sharma of semester  -2  bagged consolation prizes.The Poster Making cum Slogan Writing Competition was judged by a panel of experts comprising renowned Artist JKUT, M Akram Khan and Sr. Artist from Cultural Wing, Department of Information & Public Relations, Jammu, Suresh Kumar. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Assistant Professor,  Yash Kumar.
