Patiala , 31 Mar 2021

Congress has took a serious note of  the statement given by an Assistant Professor of MBA Department of Punjabi University Patiala, Mr Sumrinder Singh Sira after Joining Aam Aadmi Party that he had been media advisor or member of media team of MP Patiala, Mrs. Preneet Kaur.Terming his claims totally false, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, General Secretary and PRTC Chairman K K Sharma, Patiala, Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu and District Congress Committee, Patiala Urban, President K K  Malhotra said that Sumrinder Singh Sira has never had any connection with the Congress and Moti Mahal.  The name of this person, we have heard for the first time, they added. They said that we have come to know that Sumrinder Singh Sira was an Assistant Professor in the Department of MBA and was posted at the Talwandi Sabo Campus of the University.  From where, he was transferred to Patiala after a fight with a senior professor. Apart from that an FIR has also been lodged against him under the Cruelty against Animal Act for illegally organising Cock fighting, during a lockdown.

K K Malhotra further made it clear that he has been the President of Patiala Block Congress for 15 years and President of District Congress Committee Patiala Urban for last three years.  In the record of Patiala Congress, Sumrinder Singh Sira is not a Congress party worker nor has he ever procured a primary membership slip of Rs. 10.  How could a person, who is not even a primary member of the party, have any connection with the Congress?.  PRTC Chairman K K Sharma and Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu said that when the news broke in the media, they found out that during the 2009 parliamentary elections, Mr Sira met Maharani Preneet Kaur but was not given any responsibility, so he did not come to Moti Mahal after that.  It is now 2021, about 12 years have passed and the Congress party has no idea where Sira was.  It is sure that he is an assistant professor in Punjabi University.  According to government rules, no government employee can take part in political activities. Though, Mr  Sira may have resigned and joined the Aam Aadmi Party but the Aam Aadmi Party is presenting him as if a major pillar of the Congress party has joined AAP.  It is obvious that the Aam Aadmi Party has gone bankrupt politically.  The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is playing gimmicks to  re-establish itself in Punjab politics after its crushing defeat in the Municipal Council elections but such moves will not fructify.

Congress leaders challenged

Sumrinder Singh Sira to produce any document that responsibility as media advisor or member of her media team given to him by the Congress party or MP Preneet Kaur   to find out if he has any connection with the Congress.  He said that Congress party is like a sea.  People come here to fulfill their wishes but recognition was given to only those who stands with the party as per the party's ideology.  The people have a close relationship with the Congress party.  From generation to generation, people have been walking with the Congress party. Wishing Aam Aadmi Party  Congratulations on inclusion of Sira,  these  leaders said that Congress has nothing to do with this development.
