DC Kulgam reviews Snow clearance operations, restoration of essential services

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review snow clearance operations, restoration of essential services, status of essential commodities and healthcare services available in the district.While reviewing the post snowfall situation and the availability of essential commodities in the district, it was informed that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities available in the district including LPG, ration, Vegetables and other essentials.It was also informed that there is a stock of 13185 quintals of rice, 5197 LPG cylinders, 218000 litres of Diesel and 190000 litres of petrol available in the District.The Jal Shakti authorities informed that out of 198 water supply schemes, 162 are functioning normally and restoration process is going on at other schemes.With regard to snow clearance of roads it was informed that the majority of roads have been cleared and snow clearance operations on others are going on at a fast pace.

On the occasion, the DC directed Tehsildars, officials of Municipal Committees, officials of all line departments to remain stationed at their locations and work in mission mode to ensure uninterrupted supply of the essential items and services in the district.He asked the concerned to conduct regular market checking to keep check on hoarding and profiteering.The concerned of sheep and animal husbandry were directed to ensure availability of vaccines and other required medicines and fodder for livestock.Meanwhile people are advised, not to venture in avalanche prone areas and to avoid unnecessary use of private transport for a few days.Notably, district administration has already established control rooms to assist the people during this winter season. They are also advised to contact Concerned Tehsildars in case of any emergency to get prompt assistance besides they can also contact on 01931-260500 and 94190-31386 for assistance.
