Kishtwar admin intensifies registration of Building, construction workers

District administration Kishtwar has intensified the registration of building and other construction workers to enable them to avail the benefits being provided to them by the Labour Department.To review the progress, Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara today chaired a meeting of the BDC Chairpersons, President Municipal Council Kishtwar and all the District Officer here at New DC office complex.Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Hanief Malik; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar also attended the meeting.At the outset, Assistant Labour Commissioner   Anoop Kumar, informed that the department has set a target to register 21355 eligible workers which include 7859 new registrations and 13496 inactive workers.He further said that Block Development Council chairpersons and Chairman Municipal Committee have also been empowered to issue Employment certificate in favour of Building and other Construction workers apart from already existing agencies and departments.He further informed that the last date of renewal of all old labour cards is up to September 30, 2020.The DC directed ALC Kishtwar to notify the schedule of awareness camps in coordination with rural development and health department for on the spot physical verification and document checking so that targets are achieved well in time.He also asked for generating awareness about various Schemes of Labour department through mass media, print and electronic media, social media and one to one interaction.DC also assigned the monthly target of 15% registration of the MGNREGA workers to the Block Development Officers. Other departments linked with Building and construction workers were also assigned the monthly target of registration of 15%. He also aspired for achieving 50% potential registration by the end of September.He also reviewed the performance of the various executing agencies in the collection of cess and directed Assistant Commissioner Development   and  EO municipality not to give any building permission without the NOC from labour department.Stressing upon submission of monthly progress report by the concerned departments, he said that   review of cess collection will be held monthly.It was also decided that the implementation of schemes of labour department would held fortnightly.Implementation of PM-SYM and NPS traders schemes was also reviewed. The concerned District officers were directed to generate awareness about the scheme through awareness camps.
