DC Poonch launches Kisan Pakhwada

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav today launched the Kissan Pakhwada in this border district being observed July 7 to July 21, 2020.The programme was organised by the Department of Agriculture in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, J&K Bank (Convenor Bank, JKUTLBC) with the objective to achieve 100 percent KCC coverage during the fortnight.While speaking at the launch, organised in the premises of Chief Agriculture Officer Poonch, the DC said the objective of organising ‘Kissan Pakhwada' is to increase the flow of advances in the agriculture sector and double the income of farmers by way of their involvement in agricultural related welfare schemes like KCC, PM-KISAN and other schemes.The DC stressed upon all stakeholders to play a proactive role for making Kissan Pakhwada a successful mission in the district and ensure hundred per cent coverage of farmers including those associated with cattle, Sheep and Fish farming under the purview of centrally sponsored PM Kissan and KCC schemes.He also urged the Block Development Council chairpersons, Sarpanchs, Panchs to play an active role in making the Kissan Pakhwada a successful and help the Government in achieving the desired results.The DC urged upon all the stakeholders to follow guidelines and SOPs related to COVID-19 while carrying out activities related to the campaign.Among others, the meeting was attended by BDC chairperson, the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Banks, and other officers of concerned departments.Chief Agriculture Officer, Cluster Head JK Bank, Lead District Manager, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, and Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer also spoke on the occasion and asked the farmer to come forward and get the benefits of the departmental schemes.Block Developmental Council Chairman Poonch Mohammad Jameel also participated in the function and stressed upon the farmers to avail the opportunity.
