The Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has directed the police offices to conduct special drive into their areas daily to ensure obeying of medical protocols that mandate social distancing and masking at the public places under Mission Fateh, the flagship program of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.Chairing a meeting with the police officials in the district administrative complex on Tuesday, The Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that as markets were now open and people were coming in large number on the roads, the duty of policemen has enhanced to keep the Covid-19 pandemic at bay.He asked the police officers to conduct the patrolling in their areas to ensure the people follow the social distancing and masking norms at the public places.  Mr Bhullar asked them to issue challans to the violators of the norms and there must not be any kind of the leniency.Commissioner of Police said that the drive would help in checking the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and saving the precious lives.

Meanwhile, Mr Bhullar also told the officers to increase night vigil to keep a strict eye on law and order situation. He told the officers to supervise the police nakas and strategic points for ensuring foolproof security to the city residents.The city police chief also encouraged them to continue the serve their duties with dedication and sincerity as they discharged in the past.3He added that the people also have to play a vanguard role for further checking the spread of Covid 19 and should wear the mask and follow social distancing at the public places.On the occasion, DCP Mr Gurmit Singh, ADCPs Ms Vatsala Gupta, Mr Ashwani Kumar, ACPs Mr Bimal Kant, Mr Satinder Chadha, Mr Harsimran Singh, Mr Barjinder Singh, Mr Dharam Pal and others were present.
