The Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has made elaborate security arrangements for ensuring that residents welcome the New Year peacefully, enthusiastically and without any fear.Divulging more details Commissioner of Police Mr Naunihal Singh, who reviewed the security arrangements in a meeting here today at the Police lines, said that the Commissionerate Police is fully committed to maintain and law at every cost and foolproof arrangements have been put in place before the New Year eve so that people can welcome the New Year with full enthusiasm and gaiety. Mr. Naunihal Singh said that the officers/ officials have been directed to beef up security arrangements at all the vulnerable places. He said that sole aim of reviewing the arrangements is to make security system more responsive and efficient.The Commissioner of Police said that the major focus of the Commissionerate Police is on prevention of crime and instilling sense of security amongst the residents. He assured the people that an elaborate security cover has already been put in place in the city and no one will be allowed to take the law in its hands during the celebrations. 

Seeking fulsome support and cooperation from the people for prevention of crime, Mr. Naunihal Singh said that the Police are at their service round the clock to help and assist people adding that the Commissionerate Police will uphold the glorious tradition of the Punjab Police to perform their duty with utmost zeal and professional integrity.The Commissioner of Police said that more than1000 Police officials have been deployed to keep a strict vigil in wake of the New Year Celebrations. Likewise, he said that security has also been enhanced in the city to check any sort of anti-social activity. Mr. Naunihal Singh further said that for round the clock vigil in the city various patrolling parties of the Police have been deployed.The Commissioner of Police further said that senior officers will be personally monitoring law and order situation in the city during the celebrations. Mr. Naunihal Singh appealed the people to welcome the New Year with full gaiety and enthusiasm by adhering to the covid protocol and following the law and order norms.On the occasion Joint Commissioners of Police Mr Sandeep Malik and Mr Ketan Parekh, Deputy Commissioners of Police Mr Jagmohan Singh, Mr Gurmeet Singh and Mr JS Teja along with others were present.
