Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today visited Zachaldara Tehsil of Handwara sub division and took stock of problems of the people at ground level.The Deputy Commissioner convened a joint meeting of local administration and members of civil society besides, PRI’s and various issues were raised like installation of additional pipes for reliable water supply to Zachaldara block, release of pending payments under Rural Development schemes, establishment of Sumo Stand in the area and maintenance of Zachaldara road.The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the aggrieved and gave on spot directions to the concerned to resolve the issues.The Deputy Commissioner directed the ADC to check the inventory of water pipes lying at the disposal of PHE department for their installation at requisite locations.He also directed the concerned Tehsildar for identification of land to be used for establishment of Sumo Stand in the area.The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned BDO to release pending payments under NREGA and other schemes in coordination with PRIs to the concerned beneficiaries.The DC said that the developmental works including maintenance of roads was a normal process but was affected due to current pandemic situation. He added that given the current situation, prior focus of the government is upon the health related issues and the District Administration is trying its best to resolve developmental and other issues of the people at the same time.The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Bashir Ahmad Bhat; BDO and other concerned officers accompanied the DC during the visit.
