Advisor to Governor, K Skandan, today held a public grievance redressal camp at Convention Centre where he met several public delegations and individuals who apprised him of their issues and demands.During the camp, scores of public deputations and individuals turned up in large number for the public hearing to apprise the Advisor of their grievances seeking his intervention in ensuring outcome-based redressal of the same in a time-bound manner.A deputation comprising JMC Councillor of Ward no 47 and 48, namely, Sharda Kumari and Sham Lal respectively, and President Saryara Sabha Bahu Fort and Chairman, Sudhar Sabha Bahu Fort projected their demand for shifting of Tehsil Head Quarter.A deputation of residents of Balwal area led by Vikramjeet demanded construction of lane and drain in their locality.A delegation of Inhabitants of village Chiryai, Udhampur led by Yashpal Sharma met the Advisor and demanded completion of tourism project sanctioned in 2013 for developing their village into a potential tourist destination.
A deputation of shortlisted candidates of Junior Legal Assistant in Law department raised their concerns regarding their appointment.A delegation of Erstwhile Doda Migrant Committee led by Rakesh Sharma sought their registration as migrants and demanded benefits at par with Kashmiri Migrants. A deputation of JE Civil Candidates (PM Package) raised issue related to their selection list.A delegation of Settlement Assistants of Revenue Department projected the demand of their regularization.An individual namely, Vipan Chand from Himachal Pradesh who used to run a rented shop in Srinagar sought compensation for the goods damaged in 1990. Small contractors namely Mahesh Gupta and Mohd Sharief raised issue of their pending payments.Individuals namely Sham Lal Sharma, Sroman, Baby Koul and Dilbag put forth their revenue related issues.Several other delegations and individuals also met the Advisor and registered their issues and demands related to Industries & Commerce, Animal/ Sheep Husbandry, Revenue, Disaster management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, Transport and Law and other departments besides other public importance and developmental issues .Advisor Skandan assured the delegations and individuals as well that all their genuine issues would be examined for redressal .Meanwhile, for many issues projected by the public, the Advisor issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments for taking cognizance of the same pertaining to their departments and redress the same in a time bound manner.Senior functionaries of the concerned departments were also present during the public hearing.
