Industries and Commerce Minister Punjab Sunder Sham Arora today said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is set to eliminate Inspector Raj from the state by starting online system for the inspections of industrial units soon which would give a major relief to the industrialists of the state.Mr Arora was speaking during a meeting with the representatives of various industrialists' organizations in Circuit House of Ludhiana.He said that the entire process of the inspections is being made online and the concerned industry will be intimated before the inspection. He said that to avoid inconvenience to industrialists, a joint inspection for industrial units would be made by Labour, Pollution and Industry departments.Mr Arora said that if any shortcoming would be found by the joint team, then a specific period would be given to rectify.Divulging more details, the Minister said that an investment worth Rs 50,000 crore has been made by the industrialists in the state due to industrial friendly initiatives taken by the Punjab government. He said that the Industrial Policy framed by the state government in 2017 has been instrumental in giving impetus to Industry in the state.

Sunder Sham Arora  said that the policy has also acted as a catalyst in reviving the industry in the state. The Minister also announced that Rs 100 crore VAT refund would be made to the industrialists by the end of this month. Likewise, he said that remaining Rs 200 crore VAT refund would be issued within the coming two months.Minister said that Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab government has given a major fillip to the industrial development of the state. He said that due to this push, lakhs of jobs have been created in the state which resulted in providing gainful employment to the unemployed youth. He said that three clusters have already been approved for Ludhiana and another cluster, the case has been sent to the central government for the permission. On the occasion, Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation (PSIDC) Chairman Mr KK Bawa, Police Commissioner Mr Sukhchain Singh Gill, MC Commissioner Ms Kanwalpreet Kaur Brar, ADC (G) Mr Iqbal Singh Sandhu, GM DIC Mr Mahesh Khanna and others were present.
