Central Government will soon enact legislation to nab fraudulent NRI bridegrooms : Manisha Gulati

Addressing a press conference here today Chairperson of the Punjab State Women's Commission Manisha Gulati disclosed that the Central Government will soon come up with a legislation that will put an end to atrocities being committed by run away foreign bridegrooms against Indian girls.Gulati further said that she had called on the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi yesterday and during her meeting a detailed discussion on the issue of duping and fraud against our girls by the foreign bridegrooms took place. 

PM underlined that these cases had been reported not only from Punjab but from all over the country, and the Centre was preparing a stringent law which will be implemented soon, she added.She also said that the Prime Minister assured that if there would be any need to amend or modify the existing law it would be done.She said that the Prime Minister also assured that if there was any need to talk to foreign governments to bring back the hiding grooms to foreign countries, it will also be done. PM also said that all efforts would also be undertaken and all help from foreign governments would be sought to bring back bridegrooms who have run away to foreign lands after duping Indian girls, Gulati added.Gulati also said that media had been highlighting the plight of educated doctor, engineer and other highly educated girls who have been duped by these foreigner bridegrooms.
