The makers of the upcoming Punjabi comedy film, ‘Ni Main Sass Kutni’ were issued a notice last Monday. The notice has been issued by Punjab Women’s Commissioner Manisha Gulati. She objectifies the title and theme of the film. The summoning has been done to give the producers a chance to clarify their stand on the matter.The movie which is slated to release on 29 April 2022 might not be able to release since the makers didn't clarify. According to Gulati, the title of the movie isn’t set to good taste. Therefore, she has asked the producers and directors to be present in the commission’s office on Friday, 22 April 2022.
Speaking of the film, as the title shows Ni Mai Sass Kutni, the film is based on the relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law. It is directed by Praveen Kumar and produced by the trio of Mohit Banwait, Ankush Gupta, and Sachin Gupta. The trailer of the movie has already been out. The film includes many prominent actors like Nisha Bano, Anita Devgan, Karamjit Anmol, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Nirmal Rishi, Tanvi Nagi, Akshita Sharma, and many others in main roles.The title of the movie already makes it pretty clear that the film is all about the household battles between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law. And now the trailer has re-established the same message depicted by the title.
It shows how these sentiments run in a chain reaction actually, which is being passed on from one generation to another without fail.But now Gurpreet Ghuggi and other members issue a clarification regarding the same in one of the interviews. Ghuggi said he respects Manisha Gulati for how she listened to both sides of the stories and understood that there is nothing wrong with the film’s title. He feels bad for the narrow-minded people who pointed complaints about this issue. Not only this, he recalls the phrase, sass kuttni, that has been used for years in Punjab. And if this was objectionable then this would have touched controversies 20 years back already. It is a satirical term that delivers the sweet and salty relationships between sass and a nooh (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law).
For the unversed, Mehtab Virk who is making his debut with this film, and Tanvi Nagi who is playing the lead character opposite him are the two most promising characteristics of the movie. The trailer shows that the trailer is full of all sorts of drama and is very entertaining. As the film is scheduled to release this month, but, it is yet to see how they fare in front of Manish Gulati when they debate their concerns regarding the title of the movie on Friday also.
