Minister reviews progress of schemes of Social Justice and Empowerment department

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Rajeev Saizal chaired the state level meeting to review the progress on various central and state schemes being implemented by the Social Justice and Empowerment and Women and Child Development departments, here today.The Minister said that the state government is providing pensions and allowances to more than 5.11 lakh beneficiaries in the state under social security sector. The government has accorded sanction to 23,442 pending applications up to March, 2019 under social security scheme, as a result of which the total number of pensioners will go up to 5,34,578 in the state. Similarly, sanction has been granted to 1,20,581 new case of social security pension scheme from January 1, 2018.The presentations were given during the meeting by Directorate of Empowerment of SCs, OBCs, Minorities and Specially Abled (ESOMSA) and Women and Child development on various schemes being implemented through them.The initiatives like ICDS Common Application Software (ICDS-CAS) were also discussed in the meeting which aims at better management of Anganwadi workers and improving service quality.The Minister also reviewed the progress under various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Matri Matru Vandana Yojana, Beti Hai Anmol and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.Additional Chief Secretary (Social Justice & Empowerment)  Nisha Singh, Director (ESOMSA) Hans Raj Sharma and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
