Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation stone of 16 developmental projects worth about Rs. 98 crore at Chandi in Doon assembly constituency of Solan district.During his one-day visit, the Chief Minister dedicated seven developmental projects for Doon assembly constituency worth about Rs. 41.71 crore to the people. These include inauguration of drinking water scheme for Chandi area from Balad Khad at a cost of Rs. 21.69 crore, augmentation of drinking water scheme Kaintha Chandiyar with Rs. 2.69 crore, Primary Health Center Baba Haripur constructed with Rs. 1.38 crore, bridge constructed at Kheranwala with a cost of Rs. 1.10 crore, Bagwala Bersen bridge constructed at Rs. 95 lakh, Gumbar bridge-Marheta road and bridge costing Rs. 6.06 crore and 33 KV Power Sub Station Goyla costing Rs. 7.84 crore.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of nine developmental projects for the Doon assembly constituency worth about Rs. 55.82 crore. These include laying the foundation stone for the improvement of various drinking water schemes under Jal Shakti Section Patta at a cost of Rs. 1.46 crore and foundation stone of drinking water scheme Barota to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.19 crore from Gumbar Khad. He also laid foundation stone of augmentation of various drinking water schemes of Rs. 6.88 crore under Jal Shakti sub-division Chandi. 

District Forensic Unit Baddi to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.92 crore, upgradation work of Patta-Goyla-Chandi road with Rs. 26.82 crore and upgradation work of Patta-Ghared road at a cost of Rs. 12.43 crore.He laid foundation stone of bridge to be constructed on Katal ki Nali-Chandi Gyan road at  Rs. 2.17 crore, Kharota bridge at a cost of Rs. 1.40 crore and Ayurvedic Health Center at Thakrana to be constructed with an expenditure of Rs. 55 lakh.Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the public meeting organized at Chandi Mela ground said that the present state government has ensured all round and equitable development of the state. 

The government has accelerated the pace of development, especially in the geographically difficult and backward areas of the state. He said that during the tenure of the present government in the Doon assembly constituency, so far, inaugurations and foundation stones of various schemes worth Rs. 400 crore have been performed.The Chief Minister said that the State Government has ensured pace of development in the State despite the Corona pandemic. 

The present government has benefited senior citizens and other eligible people with an expenditure of Rs. 1300 crore through social security pension. He said that as a new initiative to provide health security to the needy people of the state, the state government launched Mukhya Mantri Himcare Yojna. He said that so far more than 2.50 lakh people have been benefited from Mukhya Mantri Himcare Yojana. The state government was also ensuring successful implementation of the Central Government's Ayushman Bharat scheme. In an effort towards providing better health care schemes to provide relief to the people of the state, the government was providing Rs. 3000 per month for chronicle diseases under Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana for medicines etc., which has benefited about 20 thousand eligible people of the state.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has taken many effective steps for women empowerment. The government has decided to provide revolving fund of Rs. 25,000 to Self Help Groups. Under the Mukhya Mantri Shagun Yojana, an amount of Rs. 31 thousand is being provided to the daughters of BPL families at the time of marriage. Under the Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojana, about 3.31 lakh families have been benefited. The state government has decided to provide 50 percent discount on fares to women for travel in HRTC buses from the month of July to facilitate the women of the state. 

To facilitate the rural population of the state the government has decided to provide free of cost supply of drinking water in rural areas post July and zero bill to domestic consumers on electricity consumption up to 125 units.On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced opening of Government College at Chandi, opening of Divisional Office of Public Works Department at Patta Mahlog, upgradation of Sub Tehsil Krishnagarh to Tehsil, Ayurvedic dispensary at Jadla and Veterinary Dispensary at Sherla.He announced upgradation of Veterinary Dispensary Sai to Animal Hospital, upgradation of Government Middle School Dharampur and Government Middle School Ghyan to Government High School, upgradation of Government High School Bhatoli Kalan to Government Senior Secondary School and commencing of commerce classes in Government Senior Secondary School Krishnagarh ( Kuthar).

He also announced to start fitter trade in Industrial Training Institute Patta. He announced for opening of new separate Patwar Circles in Gram Panchayat Dhakrayana and Gram Panchayat Mandesar and removing villages Behmandi, Aleta, Ambaka, Jasuana, Behkneta and Majri from Patwar Circle Kaundi and to include these villages in Patwar Circle Kandol.  He said that Shasal village would now be included in Jagjit Nagar Patwar Circle.Earlier, the Chief Minister was accorded warm welcome at Chandi. He was also honoured by various organizations and institutions.

Jai Ram Thakur paid obeisance and offered prayers at famous Chandi temple on this occasion.MP and BJP State President Suresh Kashyap said that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur belong to humble background, therefore has given top priority to social security of senior citizens and reduced the age limit of eligibility for old age pension scheme to 60 years. Due to Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna, the difficulties of rural women have been reduced and three gas cylinders with gas connections are being provided to them free of cost. He said that many public welfare schemes have been started at the Center under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the double engine government has ensured speedy implementation of these schemes and took them to the people of the state in a time bound manner.

Earlier, local MLA Paramjit Singh Pammi welcomed the Chief Minister. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for the development works done in the Doon Vidhan Sabha and also detailed various developmental demands of the area.Chairperson, Zila Parishad Solan, Ramesh Thakur presented the welcome address and Doon BJP Mandal President Balvir Thakur presented the vote of thanks.Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal, former MLA K.L. Thakur and Vinod Chandel, Vice Chairman of Water Management Board Darshan Singh Saini, Vice Chairman State Gau Seva Aayog Ashok Sharma, Chairperson State Women Commission Dr. Daisy Thakur, President APMC Solan Sanjeev Kashyap, District BJP President Ashutosh Vaidya, District General Secretary Yuva Morcha Sanjeev Thakur, BDC President Jamuna Thakur and Vice President Prem Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Kritika Kulhari, Superintendent of Police Virender Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of BBN Dr. Richa Verma and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
