The ongoing 7 day Dr. Mohinder Singh Randhawa Art & Literary Fest being organized by the Punjab Kala Parishad here at Punjab Kala Bhawan today saw an interactive session (Ru-Ba-Ru) with eminent sports and vartak writer Principal Sarwan Singh.On the occasion while interacting with the audience, Principal Sarwan Singh travelled down the memory lane and recalled his literary journey right from first article of college days till his 38th book titled ‘Mere Vartak De Rang’. Remembering Dr. Mohinder Singh Randhawa, the author read out the selective lines from a long life sketch written about Dr. Randhawa in the book ‘Punjab De Kohinoor’. The author said that prose writing is equivalent to writing poetry and carries its own rhythm. The good prose is that which forces the reader to be glued to it through the very first line while the last one makes the reader ponder. He also said that the biggest asset of the Punjabi Language is its vastly rich vocabulary. He added that there is no dearth of readers the only thing that is needed for the writer is to keep their creations in tune with the changing times. He also said that the future of Punjabi literature is bright.Mentioning his sports writings, Principal Sarwan Singh said that life is also a sport and every player is complete in itself. He emphasized that sports teach way of life as in sports such as weightlifting, athletics and discus throw many old records are broken and new ones created similarly life also throws new challenges and encountering them is the biggest challenge a person faces. Principal Sarwan Singh also advised the new entrants in the writing world to make usage of simple and clear language which could make an instant and direct connection with the readers. 

He exhorted the youth to strive for creating a Robust Punjab and said that our region is very rich from geographical aspect which has bestowed bountiful of natural riches on us. The only thing which is needed is to preserve these. He also lamented that the linguistic experts of the Universities and Punjabi critics’ have not paid required attention to the sports literature. But owing to the massive response of the readers he has carried on his writing journey.On the occasion, the Chairman of the Punjab Kala Parishad Dr. Surjit Patar termed the literary creations of Principal Sarwan Singh as the treasure of Punjabi Prose and said that the writings of the author are in perfect synchronization just like poetry. Dr. Patar also added that it goes entirely to the credit of Principal Sarwan Singh that the author has through his top class prose writing art kept even the persons not interested in sports subject connected to the genre. The author has preserved very well the treasure trove of the players as well as sports through his hugely rich vocabulary.The Secretary General of the Parishad Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal conducted the proceedings extremely well. Famous Lyricist Shamsher Singh Sandhu and the former President of the Punjabi Sahit Akademi Dr. Sukhdev Singh Sirsa recalled their fond memories with Principal Sarwan Singh. Earlier, Dr. Patar and Dr. Johal honoured Principal Sarwan Singh and his better half Mrs. Harjeet Kaur Sandhu with a bouquet, phulkari and a set of books.Among others present on the occasion included Secretary, Punjabi Sangeet Natak Akademi Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Media Coordinator of the parishad Mr. Ninder Ghugianvi, President Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Dr. Sarbjit Singh, Sushil Dosanjh, Gurcharan Singh Shergille, Sukhminder Singh Gajjanwala, Pritpal Singh Gill and Surinder Gill.
