Governor Acharya Devvrat appreciates MP Anurag Thakur for starting healthcare program

Governor Acharya Devvrat said that there was no religion and work above the service of humanity and the people who work for the suffering humanity becomes the reason for the inspiration of the people in the society.The Governor was speaking in a Sansad Mobile Swasthya (SMS) Seva function held at Bhota in Hamirpur district, today.He appreciated the efforts of MP Anurag Thakur for starting a public healthcare program with the help of a local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Paryas Society. He also appreciated the objective of this programme to provide free health facilities to the people of the district at their doorstep, for which the MP deserves a compliment. He said that SMS Seva uses state-of-the-art Accuster mobile pathology laboratories to conduct forty different medical tests and all the primary services and medicines in the SMS Seva were provided free of cost to the people. SMS Seva has several unique achievements to its credit and there were more than 80 percent of the SMS Seva's beneficiaries being women.He also appreciated the efforts of Anurag Thakur for starting Sports activities in the state in a big way to keep the youth out of drugs menace so that they could contribute to the nation. He said that the “scheme of country touring” was also a good endeavor of Anurag Thakur to take the daughters forward which should be encouraged further. He said that such programs should be continued, because such works could contribute to the service of humanity. He congratulated Anurag Thakur for these efforts and hoped that people would take advantage of it.The Governor also honoured the people who worked for the promotion of SMS services.

Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister welcomed and honoured the Governor on the occasion. He said that  SMS comprises of Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) which ply to remote rural villages in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency. This program began on the 14th of April 2018, birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and within, few months of its operations, the SMS Seva has been able to provide primary health care to more than 51000 people and efforts have been made to reach more areas. He congratulated the MP Anurag Thakur for starting this scheme with a new thought.He said that Anurag Thakur has also initiated the sports Mahakumbh, in which more than 25000 youngsters have participated. Apart from this, MP Bharat Darshan Yojana has also been started. He said that 250 children from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency have been selected under this scheme, which would visit important places of the country so that they could grow up with new vision and knowledge.MLA Kamlesh Kumari from Bhoranj welcomed the Governor and said that the Prayas Society had been started with the motivation of former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal and she was also the founder member of the society. He lauded and thanked the initiative of Anurag Thakur for starting such a noble health service in the district and added that it has been given vide expension in Bhoranj Assembly. She said that the SMS services was being provided with a sense of selflessness and was available to all. Sanjeev Rajput, Co-ordinator, Prayas Society also welcomed the Governor and other dignitaries and detailed about health services being provided by the society and other activities related to the health services.Baldev Sharma, Former MLA, Ajay Sharma, Chairman APMC, Dr. Richa Verma, Deputy Commissioner, Hamirpur, Raman Mina, superintendent of police and other prominent people of the district were also present on the occasion.
