Various industrial bodies representing small scale manufacturers today strongly condemned, the interference by independent candidate Simarjit Bains and his goon supporters, in the functioning of Power com department, a state govt. body and stopping the employees from discharging their duties. In a joint press conference held at Celebrations Plaza, Gill Road Mr. Gurmeet singh Kular, President Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO), Mr. Harpal Singh Bhanwar, President and Mr. Pawan Garg, Gen. Secretary , Janta Nagar small scale industries Association and Mr. Jagatvir Singh, President Ludhiana Bicycle & Engineering parts association, they charged Bains Brothers for always working against the interests of the trade & industry in Ludhiana.

Terming the interference as a mere ploy to draw political mileage, the associations accused Bains of unduly pressurizing and terrorizing the officials of the power com department.

It is pertinent to mention here that on 17th night, Mr. Bains along with his supporter Karwal & others entered unlawfully into the Janta Nagar Office of Power com with an intention to stop the employees , working there and chased away the officials, who came to finish their pending work, relating to the issuance of Demand notices against connection applications received by the department from the industrial units under Mixed Land Use Policy, amended recently by Pb. Govt to the benefit of the small scale industries in mixed Land areas.Mr. Bains & Mr. Karwal already had a track record of interfering in the functioning of Govt. departments and were already facing criminal charges in the court for attacking Naib Tehsildar Benipal, too.The associations also announced their intent to challenge Bains openly and teaching him a lesson in the upcoming Lok sabha elections for indulging in anti-industry activities as the incident had clearly showed that Bains brothers were not able to digest that small scale trade & business flourish & prosper in the city. The Associations openly announced their full support to SAD BJP candidate Manpreet Singh Ayali, who had helped resolve one of the most tedious and complex issues of the City industry by getting the necessary amendments in Mixed Land use Policy.Prominent among those presents were Avtar Singh Azad, Balbir Singh Mankoo, Satnam Singh Lotey , Rajiv Jain ,Satnam Singh Makkar, Mahinder Singh Talwandi, Amarjit Singh Birdi, Narinder Singh Gora, Kulwinder Singh, Surinder Singh Panesar, Balbir Singh, Parveen Kumar Bittu, Jarnail Singh, Narinder Singh Birdi.
