The function was organised by BJP district president Srinagar Arif Raja in which senior leaders of BJP along with the workers in large number participated.On the occasion District President Srinagar Arif Raja hoisted the National Flag, main party leaders State Spokesperson Altaf Thakur, National Vice President BJYM Er. Aijaz Hussain, State Co Incharge IT , Social Media and Media Incharge Kashmir Manzoor Bhat, Programme Coordinator Kashmir Ashok Bhat, Election Inchage Kashmir Asif Masoodi, Media Incharge Kashmir Mohammad Tahir Mir, Grievance Cell Incharge Kashmir Dr. Rafi, Protocol incharge Kashmir Nazir Gilkar, State General Secretary Minority Morcha Sheikh Bashir, Office Incharge Kashmir Salinder Singh, Vistark Incharge Kashmir Mushataq Noorabadi, Prabhari  Bandipora Mohamad Ashraf Reshi,  General Secretaries Srinagar Hilal Jan and Harbinder Singh, State Vice President Minority Morhca Adv. Wajahat Hussain,   Constituency Presidents: Batmaloo Yonis Ahmad , Zadibal Muzaffar Safvi were among others present on this occasion After Flag Hoisting and national Anthem sweets were distributed as mark of Joy and slogans (Azad Hindustan Zindabad & Bhartiya Janta Party Zindabad) were raised on the occasion.

After the function while addressing the gathering District President Srinagar Arif Raja said that central Govt is committed for development of the state.BJP leders congratulated the party workers for take part in this function showing there patriotic belief & promise of serving the nation.Addressing on the occasion of independence day fuction, District President Srinagar Arif Raja welcomed the people and said we are trying to deliver on the promises and commitments made to people by our party and will try to go any extent to ensure peace and prosperity in the state.A change is taking place slowly and gradually in society because society at large wants to return to peace and normalcy and central govt will take every possible measure to achieve this target and also highlighted its "pro-poor" and nationalistic agenda, with the party likely in the state.Some of the party leaders while appreciating the PM Modi massage on Kashmir that solution to Kashmir issue lies in embracing peoplle and that bullets and abuses were no solution to the Kashmir issue adding that his government is committed to the development of all the areas and all sections of Jammu and Kashmir.
