Journalism is the fourt and strongest pillar of Indian democracy without whose immense contribution the very existence of society could not be imagined. Today the social media poses a number of challenges to the journalism. This requires the journalists to work with greater dedication and sense of responsibility, people should also take onus of making only that information viral which is correct and true.Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Mr Praneet said this while interacting with media persons here. He had earlier worked as SDM and ADC at Sri Ananpur Sahib, Fazilka, Sunam, Nanwanshar, Sri Amritsar Sahib and Jalandhar during different time periods. He joined as Deputy Commissioner Bathinda few weeks ago.Talking to the media persons Mr Praneet commended the efforts of media in highlighting the wrong doings of society and said that these efforts have helped bring positive changes in society. he added that post independence, democracy took deep roots in the country enabling greater freedom of speech to journalists and also increased their responsibility.He asserted journalists of all possible help from the district administration to them.
