Chering Dorjey announces Rs 10 lakh for flood affected Tirisha village

Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorjey visited the flood affected village of Tirisha in Nubra sub-division here today.EC Tourism, Tsering Sandup, Councilor Tegar Rigzin Lundup, SDM Nubra Sonam Nurboo, Tehsilder Nubra, Ex-en PHE, AEE Irrigation & Flood Control, block level officers of Agriculture, Command Area and other concern departments were present during the visit.The Minister took stock of the damages caused by sudden flood and enquired about the extent of total loss. He on spot announced Rs 10 lakh from his MLC fund to start with temporary restoration works immediately. He also assured to take up the case with state government to get funds for permanent restoration of head works, water canals and reclamation of agricultural lands. The Minister directed Exen PHE for making temporary arrangements of drinking water in the village and to immediate action on restoration of water pipes damaged by the flood. He also instructed SDM Nubra to gear up all the concern departments at block level for undertaking restoration works. He stressed on arranging water for irrigation purpose with temporary restoration of head works and canals to avoid drying up of the existing crops.
