Deputy Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, today chaired a meeting with the officers to discuss the problems faced by inhabitants of Gurez due to irregular helicopter services during the winter season.Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal, Commissioner Civil Aviation, P R Katoch, Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Khurshid Ahmad, Deputy Director Tourism Kashmir Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad, Special Assistant to Deputy Speaker S N D Andrabi and other officers attended the meeting.The Deputy Speaker impressed upon the concerned to ensure smooth and regular helicopter services from Bandipora to Gurez and vice versa. He expressed serious concern over unsatisfactory chopper services being provided by the Pawan Hans Limited and asked the administration to ensure regular services. He said people especially ailing persons of Gurez are facing lot of difficulties due to closure of Bandipora-Gurez road during the winter season which needs to be looked into. He asked the government to make necessary arrangements for transportation of stranded passengers particularly the patients. The Principal Secretary to CM apprised the meeting that he will convene a meeting through video conferencing shortly in this regard and the Deputy Speaker will be apprised about the decision to be taken in the meeting accordingly.Gurezi asked the government to take necessary measures for shifting of stranded passengers from Bandipora to Gurez and vice versa.
